This Act may be cited as the “FTC Commissioner Parity Act”.
FTC Commissioner Parity Act
A BILL
To prohibit a commissioner of the Federal Trade Commission from continuing in office after the expiration of the term of office of the commissioner, and for other purposes.
Sec. 2 Prohibition
The first section of the Federal Trade Commission Act (15 U.S.C. 41) is amended—
by striking “: Provided, however,” and all that follows through “shall have qualified.”; and
by inserting “and that a commissioner may not continue to serve after the expiration of the term of office for which the commissioner was appointed” after “shall succeed”.
