Section 1 Preference for domestic foods for military working dogs

(a)

In general— Chapter 287 of title 10, United States Code, is amended by adding at the end the following new section:

“3906. Preference for domestic foods for military working dogs

“With respect to the acquisition of food for military working dogs by the Defense Logistics Agency, the Director of the Defense Logistic Agency shall give a preference for the acquisition of food that is manufactured or produced—

“(1) in the United States;

“(2) by an entity that is based in the United States; and

“(3) using only ingredients and materials that are grown, mined, manufactured, or produced in the United States.”

(b)

Clerical amendment— The table of chapters for chapter 287 of title 10, United States Code, is amended by adding at the end the following new item:

To amend title 10, United States Code, to establish a preference for domestically manufactured or produced food for military working dogs, and for other purposes.
