Responsible Education Assistance through Loan Reforms Act

A BILL

To streamline and improve the Federal student loan program to protect borrowers and taxpayers, prohibit the Secretary of Education from exercising regulatory overreach and abusing its authorities granted by Congress, and extend Federal Pell Grant eligibility to certain short-term workforce development programs.

Section 1 Short title; table of contents

(a)
Short title— This Act may be cited as the “Responsible Education Assistance through Loan Reforms Act” or the “Responsible Education Assistance through Loan Reforms Act” .

Table of contents— The table of contents for this Act is as follows:

Sec. 2 References

Except as otherwise expressly provided, whenever in this Act an amendment or repeal is expressed in terms of an amendment to, or repeal of, a section or other provision, the reference shall be considered to be made to a section or other provision of the Higher Education Act of 1965 (20 U.S.C. 1001 et seq.).
