This Act may be cited as the “Protecting an Alien child’s Reasonable Expectation of No Trafficking Act of 2022” or the “PARENT Act of 2022”.

A BILL
To direct the Commissioner of U.S. Customs and Border Protection to transfer the care and custody of an unaccompanied alien child to the Secretary of Health and Human Services or such child’s parent or legal guardian, and for other purposes.
Sec. 2 Providing safe and secure placements for children
Notwithstanding any other provision of law, the Commissioner of U.S. Customs and Border Protection may only transfer the care and custody of an unaccompanied alien child to the Secretary of Health and Human Services or such child’s parent or legal guardian.
