(a)
Report— Not later than 30 days after the date of enactment of this Act, the President shall submit to the relevant congressional committees a report on the actions Executive agencies are taking to make school security improvements to protect children in public elementary and secondary schools, including—
(1)
improvements to the infrastructure of school property perimeter, parking lot perimeter, building perimeter, entrance and exit points of the school building, video monitoring equipment, and the interior and perimeter of the classroom, and any other physical improvements related to camera systems and related hardware, alarm and notification technology, and visitor management technologies; and
(2)
increasing the number of school resource officers and other law enforcement agencies at such schools.
(b)
Definitions— In this section:
(1)
Executive agency— The term Executive agency has the meaning given the term in
section 105 of title 5, United States Code.
(2)
Relevant congressional committees— The term relevant congressional committees means—
(A)
the Committee on Health, Education, Labor, and Pensions, the Committee on the Judiciary, and the Committee on Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs of the Senate; and
(B)
the Committee on Education and Labor, the Committee on the Judiciary, and the Committee on Homeland Security of the House of Representatives.
