This Act may be cited as the “Keeping Israel Safe from Iranian Proxies Act”.
Keeping Israel Safe from Iranian Proxies Act
A BILL
To require annual reports on the military capabilities of Iran-backed entities and the impact of lifted sanctions on such capabilities, prohibit the availability of Federal funds to such entities, and for other purposes.
Sec. 2 Report on Iranian terrorist proxies
Not later than 180 days after the date of the enactment of this Act, and annually thereafter for 5 years, the Secretary of Defense shall submit to the Committees on Armed Services of the House of Representatives and the Senate a report that includes a detailed description of—
improvements to the military capabilities of Iran-backed entities, including Hamas, Lebanese Hezbollah, Palestinian Islamic Jihad, Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine, Asa’ib ahl al-Haq, Harakat Hezbollah al-Nujaba, Kata’ib Sayyid al-Shuhada, Kata’ib al-Imam Ali, Kata’ib Hezbollah, the Badr Organization, the Fatemiyoun, the Zainabiyoun, and Ansar Allah (also known as the Houthis); and
the direct or indirect impacts that the imposition or revocation of unilateral United States economic sanctions on Iran may have on the military capabilities of entities described in paragraph (1).
Sec. 3 Prohibition on transfer to Iranian terrorist proxies
No Federal funds authorized to be appropriated or otherwise made available to the Department of Defense may be made available, directly or indirectly, to any Iranian-backed entity listed in section 2(1).
