This Act may be cited as the “Social Security Payment Integrity and Information Act of 2022”.
Social Security Payment Integrity and Information Act of 2022
A BILL
To amend title II of the Social Security Act relating to the sharing of death information with the Do Not Pay working system, and for other purposes.
Sec. 2 Sharing of death information with Do Not Pay working system
in paragraph (2)—
in subparagraph (A), by moving the margins for each of clauses (i) and (ii) 4 ems to the left; and
by moving the margins for each of subparagraphs (B) and (C) 4 ems to the left;
in paragraph (3)(A), by moving the margins for each of clauses (i) and (ii) 2 ems to the left;
by moving the margins for paragraph (7) 2 ems to the left; and
by adding at the end the following:
“(11) The Commissioner of Social Security may, immediately upon the date of enactment of this paragraph, and shall, beginning not later than December 27, 2022, provide information furnished to the Commissioner under paragraph (1) to the agency operating the Do Not Pay working system described in section 3354(c) of title 31, United States Code, to prevent improper payments to deceased individuals through a cooperative agreement with such agency, provided that the requirements of subparagraphs (A) and (B) of paragraph (3) are met with respect to such agreement with such agency.”
Conforming amendment— Section 801 of division FF of the Consolidated Appropriations Act, 2021 (Public Law 116–260) is amended—
in subsection (a)—
by striking “(a) In General.—”;
at the end of paragraph (6), by striking “; and” and inserting a period; and
by striking paragraph (7); and
by striking subsection (b).
