Supporting Children’s Mental Health Care Access Act of 2022
A BILL
To amend the Public Health Service Act to reauthorize the pediatric mental health care access grant program, and for other purposes.
Sec. 2 Pediatric mental health care access grants
“(I) maintain an up-to-date list of community-based supports for children with mental health problems; and”
“(2) Support to schools and emergency departments—In addition to the required activities specified in paragraph (1), a statewide or regional network of pediatric mental health teams referred to in subsection (a), with respect to which a grant under such subsection may be used, may provide support to schools and emergency departments.”
“(g) Technical assistance—The Secretary shall award grants or contracts to one or more eligible entities (as defined by the Secretary) for the purposes of providing technical assistance and evaluation support to grantees under subsection (a).
“(h) Authorization of appropriations—To carry out this section, there are authorized to be appropriated—
“(1) $14,000,000 for each of fiscal years 2023 through 2025; and
“(2) $30,000,000 for each of fiscal years 2026 through 2027.”
