Restoring Maximum Pressure on Iranian Terrorists Act
A BILL
To codify Executive Order 13876, and for other purposes.
Sec. 2 Enactment of Executive Order 13876
In general— The provisions of Executive Order 13876 (84 Fed. Reg. 30573; relating to imposing sanctions with respect to Iran), as in effect on June 24, 2019, other than section 7 of such Executive Order, are enacted into law.
Publication— In publishing this Act in slip form and in the United States Statutes at Large pursuant to section 112 of title 1, United States Code, the Archivist of the United States shall include after the date of approval at the end an appendix setting forth the text of the Executive order referred to in subsection (a), as in effect on June 24, 2019.
Sec. 3 Evasion of sanctions
In general— The following actions are hereby prohibited:
Any transaction by a United States person or within the United States that evades or avoids, has the purpose of evading or avoiding, causes a violation of, or attempts to violate the prohibitions set forth in the Executive order referred to in section 2(a) and enacted into law by such section.
Any conspiracy formed to violate any of the prohibitions set forth in the Executive order referred to in section 2(a) and enacted into law by such section.
Penalties— The President is authorized to apply the penalties provided for in subsections (b) and (c) of section 206 of the International Emergency Economic Powers Act (50 U.S.C. 1705) with respect to a person that knowingly violates, attempts to violate, conspires to violate, or causes a violation of regulations promulgated to carry out the Executive order referred to in section 2(a) and enacted into law by such section to the same extent that such penalties apply to a person that knowingly commits an unlawful act described in section 206(a) of such Act.
Sec. 4 Continuing sanctions against entities designated under Executive Order 13876
All entities designated under Executive Order 13876 (84 Fed. Reg. 30573; relating to imposing sanctions with respect to Iran) on the following dates shall continue to be sanctioned pursuant to such designations, as in effect on such respective dates:
July 31, 2019.
November 4, 2019.
January 10, 2020.
February 20, 2020.
November 18, 2020.
