(a)
Report— Not later than 30 days after the date of enactment of this Act, the President, in consultation with the Secretary of Energy, the Secretary of State, the Secretary of Commerce, the Secretary of the Treasury, and the head of any other Federal agency the President determines appropriate, shall transmit to Congress a report that—
(1)
summarizes the existing authorities of the Federal Government to respond to a severe energy supply interruption;
(2)
provides an assessment of whether such existing authorities provide for an adequate response to a severe energy supply interruption; and
(3)
identifies any additional statutory authority needed to allow the Federal Government to better respond to a severe energy supply interruption.
(b)
Definition of severe energy supply interruption— In this section, the term severe energy supply interruption has the meaning given such term in section 3(8) of the Energy Policy and Conservation Act (
42 U.S.C. 6202(8)).
