Sec. 2 Simplified procedure
In general— Section 422 of the Robert T. Stafford Disaster Relief and Emergency Assistance Act (42 U.S.C. 5189) is amended—
changed
in subsection (a) (a), by striking “$35,000” each place it appears and inserting “$1,000,000”; and
in subsection (b)(3)—
changed
in the heading heading, by inserting “AND REPORT” after “REVIEW”; “REVIEW”“and report” after “Review”; and
by inserting “and submit to the Committee on Transportation and Infrastructure of the House of Representatives and the Committee on Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs of the Senate a report regarding such review, including any recommendations developed pursuant to such review” after “under this section”.
Applicability— The amendments made by subsection (a) shall apply with respect to any amounts appropriated after the date of enactment of this Act.
Sec. 3 Audit and review
addedadded Not later than 3 years after the date of enactment of this Act, the Inspector General of the Department of Homeland Security shall conduct an audit, and submit to Congress a report, on whether there has been waste and abuse as a result of the amendment made under section 2(a)(1).
