This Act may be cited as the “Halt Obesity in America Act”.
Halt Obesity in America Act
A BILL
To direct the Secretary of Health and Human Services to revise the requirement that a recipient of a grant under the High Obesity Program be located in a county with an adult obesity rate of more than 40 percent, and for other purposes.
Sec. 2 Expand eligibility of the High Obesity Program
In general— The Secretary of Health and Human Service, acting through the Director of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, shall revise the requirement that a recipient of a grant under the High Obesity Program be located in a county with an adult obesity rate of more than 40 percent to instead require such a recipient to be located in a county with an adult obesity rate of more than 35 percent.
High Obesity Program— In this Act, the term “High Obesity Program” means the High Obesity Program carried out by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention under sections 301(a) and 317(k)(2) of the Public Health Service Act (42 U.S.C. 241(a), 247b(k)(2)).
