Lead Poisoning Prevention Act of 2021
A BILL
To amend title III of the Public Health Service Act to reauthorize certain programs with respect to lead poisoning, and for other purposes.

“(2) Advisory Committee on Childhood Lead Poisoning Prevention
“(A) In general—The Secretary may establish a council to be known as the Advisory Committee on Childhood Lead Poisoning Prevention (in this paragraph referred to as the “Advisory Committee”).
“(B) Composition—The Advisory Committee shall include the following members (or their designee):
“(i) The Secretary, who shall serve as the chair of the Advisory Committee.
“(ii) The Director of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
“(iii) The Director of the National Institutes of Health.
“(iv) The Secretary of Housing and Urban Development.
“(v) The Administrator of the Environmental Protection Agency.
“(vi) Representatives of any other Federal agency, as the Secretary determines appropriate.
“(C) Duties—The Advisory Committee shall—
“(i) coordinate the efforts of Federal agencies to prevent childhood lead poisoning;
“(ii) review and report regularly to the Congress and the public on childhood lead poisoning prevention practices;
“(iii) recommend to the relevant Federal agencies improvements in national childhood lead poisoning prevention efforts; and
“(iv) develop recommendations to State, local, Tribal, and territorial health departments for the prevention and control of childhood lead poisoning.”
