Section 305(b) of the United States International Broadcasting Act of 1994 (
22 U.S.C. 6204(b)) is
amended—
(1)
in the subsection heading, by inserting “and journalists” after “broadcasters”;
(2)
by striking “the Board” each place such term appears and inserting “the United States Agency for Global Media”;
(3)
by striking “shall respect” and inserting the following: “shall—
“(2) respect”
(4)
by striking the period at the end and inserting a semicolon; and
(5)
by adding at the end the following:
“(2) protect United States Agency for Global Media journalists from any undue interference from United States Government agencies or officials; and
“(3) ensure that United States Agency for Global Media employees are judged solely on the basis of their adherence to professional standards of broadcast journalism in the course of their work.”
