“(13) Adjustment for residents with covid–19—During any portion of the national emergency declared by the President under the National Emergencies Act (50 U.S.C. 1601 et seq.) with respect to the Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID–19) beginning on or after the date of the enactment of this paragraph and ending on the earlier of the date on which such emergency declaration terminates or the date that is 180 days after such date of enactment, in the case of a resident who has a principal or secondary diagnosis of COVID–19, the per diem amount of payment otherwise applicable shall be increased by 15 percent to reflect increased costs associated with such residents.”
