Department of Energy Research and Innovation Act

AN ACT

To establish Department of Energy policy for science and energy research and development programs, and reform National Laboratory management and technology transfer programs, and for other purposes.

Section 1 Short title; table of contents

(a)
Short title— This Act may be cited as the “Department of Energy Research and Innovation Act”.
(b)
Table of contents— The table of contents of this Act is as follows:

Sec. 2 Definitions

In this Act:
(1)
Department— The term Department means the Department of Energy.
(2)
Director— The term Director means the Director of the Office of Science of the Department, except as otherwise indicated.
(3)
National Laboratory— The term National Laboratory has the meaning given that term in section 2 of the Energy Policy Act of 2005 (42 U.S.C. 15801).
(4)
Secretary— The term Secretary means the Secretary of Energy.
