TSA Modernization Act

A BILL

To authorize the programs of the Transportation Security Administration relating to transportation security, and for other purposes.

Section 1 Short title; table of contents; references

(a)
Short title— This Act may be cited as the “TSA Modernization Act”.
(b)
Table of contents— The table of contents of this Act is as follows:
(c)
References to title 49, United States Code— Except as otherwise expressly provided, wherever in this Act an amendment or repeal is expressed in terms of an amendment to, or repeal of, a section or other provision, the reference shall be considered to be made to a section or other provision of title 49, United States Code.

Sec. 2 Definitions

In this Act:
(1)
Administrator— The term Administrator means the Administrator of the TSA.
(2)
Appropriate committees of Congress— The term appropriate committees of Congress means—
(A)
the Committee on Commerce, Science, and Transportation of the Senate;
(B)
the Committee on Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs of the Senate; and
(C)
the Committee on Homeland Security of the House of Representatives.
(3)
ASAC— The term ASAC means the Aviation Security Advisory Committee established under section 44946 of title 49, United States Code.
(4)
Secretary— The term Secretary means the Secretary of Homeland Security.
(5)
TSA— The term TSA means the Transportation Security Administration.
