To authorize appropriations for the Coast Guard, and for other purposes.

Section 1 Short title; table of contents

(a)

Short title— This Act may be cited as the “Coast Guard Authorization Act of 2017”.

(b)

Table of contents— The table of contents of this Act is as follows:

Sec. 2 Effective dates

(a)

In general— Except as otherwise specifically provided in this Act, this Act and the amendments made by this Act shall take effect on the date of enactment of this Act.

(b)

Certain delayed effective dates— The amendments made by sections 101, 102, 403, and 508(a) shall take effect on October 1, 2017. The amendments made by section 206 shall take effect on January 1, 2018.
