RESOLUTION

Honoring Velvalea Vel Phillips for a life of public service.

That the House of Representatives—

(1)

recognizes and honors the achievements of Velvalea “Vel” Phillips as a ground breaker, “leader of leaders”, role model, and civil rights leader;

(2)

commends the courage, hard work, commitment, and dedication of Velvalea “Vel” Phillips in fighting for equality for all; and

(3)

honors the achievements of all American women who have overcome adversity to play a contributing role in society.
