That the House of Representatives—
supports the goals and ideals of World Water Day;
recognizes the importance of conserving and managing water resources for sustainable development, including environmental integrity and the eradication of poverty and hunger, and human health and overall quality of life in the United States and across the globe;
recognizes the contributions of fundamental science and engineering research, funded by the National Science Foundation (NSF), the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), the Department of Energy, the United States Geological Survey (USGS), the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA), the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), and others, to understanding and improving water systems and their interconnections with food and energy;
encourages public participation in water research through citizen science and crowdsourcing; and
encourages the people of the United States to observe World Water Day with appropriate recognition, ceremonies, activities, and programs to demonstrate the importance of water and water conservation to humanity.
