A BILL

To provide for certain authorities of the Department of State, and for other purposes.

(a)

Short title— This Act may be cited as the “Department of State Authorization Act of 2018”.

(b)

Table of contents— The table of contents for this Act is as follows:

Except as otherwise provided, in this Act:

(1)

Appropriate congressional committees— The term appropriate congressional committees means—

(A)

the Committee on Foreign Relations of the Senate;

(B)

the Committee on Appropriations of the Senate;

(C)

the Committee on Foreign Affairs of the House of Representatives; and

(D)

the Committee on Appropriations of the House of Representatives.

(2)

Department— Unless otherwise specified, the term Department means the Department of State.

(3)

Secretary— Unless otherwise specified, the term Secretary means the Secretary of State.
