To protect elections for public office by providing financial support and enhanced security for the infrastructure used to carry out such elections, and for other purposes.

Section 1 Short title; table of contents

(a)

Short title— This Act may be cited as the “Election Security Act”.

(b)

Table of contents— The table of contents of this Act is as follows:

Sec. 2 Sense of Congress on need to improve election infrastructure security

It is the sense of Congress that, in light of the lessons learned from Russian interference in the 2016 Presidential election, the Federal Government should intensify its efforts to improve the security of election infrastructure in the United States, including through the use of individual, durable, paper ballots marked by the voter by hand.
