Demand the end of Assault in Refugee Camps Act
A BILL
To amend the Foreign Assistance Act of 1961 to require the annual human rights reports to include information on instances of sexual assault in refugee camps, and for other purposes.
Sec. 2 Amendments to annual human rights reports under the Foreign Assistance Act of 1961
“(13) wherever applicable, with respect to each country, a description of the extent to which—
“(A) the government of the country is engaging in practices that fail to address, reduce, or prosecute instances of sexual assault in refugee camps located in such country; and
“(B) the United States has taken or will take action to end such practices, including by providing training to relevant personnel to address the crime of sexual assault.”
“(k) The report required by subsection (b) shall include, wherever applicable, with respect to each country, a description of the extent to which—
“(1) the government of the country is engaging in practices that fail to address, reduce, or prosecute instances of sexual assault in refugee camps located in such country; and
“(2) the United States has taken or will take action to end such practices, including by providing training to relevant personnel to address the crime of sexual assault.”
