A BILL

To clarify the treatment of State and local real property taxes paid in 2017 and assessed for 2018.

Section 1 Short title

This Act may be cited as the “SALT Prepayment Deductibility Act”.

Sec. 2 Treatment of State and local real property taxes paid in 2017 and assessed for 2018

Amounts paid in calendar year 2017 with respect to real property taxes assessed for calendar year 2018 shall not fail to be treated for purposes of section 164 as paid or accrued within calendar year 2017.
