DHS Accountability Act of 2016

A BILL

To amend the Homeland Security Act of 2002 to reform, streamline, and make improvements to the Department of Homeland Security and support the Department’s efforts to implement better policy, planning, management, and performance, and for other purposes.

Section 1 Short title; table of contents

(a)
Short title— This Act may be cited as the “DHS Accountability Act of 2016”.
(b)
Table of contents— The table of contents for this Act is as follows:

Sec. 2 Definitions

In this Act:
(1)
Congressional homeland security committees— The term congressional homeland security committees means—
(A)
the Committee on Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs of the Senate;
(B)
the Committee on Homeland Security of the House of Representatives;
(C)
the Subcommittee on Homeland Security Subcommittee of the Committee on Appropriations of the Senate; and
(D)
the Subcommittee on Homeland Security Subcommittee of the Committee on Appropriations of the House of Representatives.
(2)
Department— The term Department means the Department of Homeland Security.
(3)
Secretary— The term Secretary means the Secretary of Homeland Security.
