Intelligence Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 2017

AN ACT

To authorize appropriations for fiscal year 2017 for intelligence and intelligence-related activities of the United States Government, the Intelligence Community Management Account, and the Central Intelligence Agency Retirement and Disability System, and for other purposes.

Section 1 Short title; table of contents

(a)
Short title— This Act may be cited as the “Intelligence Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 2017”.
(b)
Table of contents— The table of contents for this Act is as follows:

Sec. 2 Definitions

In this Act:
(1)
Congressional intelligence committees— The term congressional intelligence committees means—
(A)
the Select Committee on Intelligence of the Senate; and
(B)
the Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence of the House of Representatives.
(2)
Intelligence community— The term intelligence community has the meaning given that term in section 3(4) of the National Security Act of 1947 (50 U.S.C. 3003(4)).

Sec. 3 Explanatory statement

The explanatory statement regarding this Act, printed in the House section of the Congressional Record on or about December 8, 2016, by the Chairman of the Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence of the House of Representatives, shall have the same effect with respect to the implementation of this Act as if it were a joint explanatory statement of a committee of conference.
