Common Sense Health Reform Americans Actually Want Act

A BILL

To repeal the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act and to take meaningful steps to lower health care costs and increase access to health insurance coverage without raising taxes, cutting Medicare benefits for seniors, adding to the national deficit, intervening in the doctor-patient relationship, or instituting a government takeover of health care.

1. Short title; purpose; table of contents

(a)
Short title— This Act may be cited as the “Common Sense Health Reform Americans Actually Want Act”.
(b)
Purpose— The purpose of this Act is to take meaningful steps to lower health care costs and increase access to health insurance coverage (especially for individuals with preexisting conditions) without—
(1)
raising taxes;
(2)
cutting Medicare benefits for seniors;
(3)
adding to the national deficit;
(4)
intervening in the doctor-patient relationship; or
(5)
instituting a government takeover of health care.
(c)
Table of contents— The table of contents of this Act is as follows:

2. Repeal of the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act and the Health Care and Education Reconciliation Act of 2010

(a)
Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act— The Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (Public Law 111–148) is repealed and the provisions of law amended or repealed by such Act are restored or revived as if such Act had not been enacted.
(b)
Health Care and Education Reconciliation Act of 2010— The Health Care and Education Reconciliation Act of 2010 (Public Law 111–152) is repealed and the provisions of law amended or repealed by such Act are restored or revived as if such Act had not been enacted.
