Big Oil Bailout Prevention Act of 2013

A BILL

To amend the Oil Pollution Act of 1990 to require responsible parties to pay the full cost of offshore oil spills, and for other purposes.

This Act may be cited as the “Big Oil Bailout Prevention Act of 2013”.

(a)

In general— Section 1004(a) of the Oil Pollution Act of 1990 (33 U.S.C. 2704(a)) is amended—

(1)

in paragraph (2), by inserting “and” after the semicolon;

(2)

by striking paragraph (3); and

(3)

by redesignating paragraph (4) as paragraph (3).

(b)

Conforming amendments— Section 1004(b)(2) of the Oil Pollution Act of 1990 (33 U.S.C. 2704(b)(2)) is amended by striking the second sentence.
