(1) Except as provided under paragraph (2), a covered individual shall not be entitled to severance pay under section 5595 of title 5 by reason of—(A) separation from service with the Architect of the Capitol and becoming an employee of a contractor under a food services contract; or(B) termination of employment with a contractor, or successor to a contractor.

(i) Except as provided under clause (ii), a covered individual shall be entitled to severance pay under section 5595 of title 5 if during the 90-day period following the transfer date the employment of that individual with a contractor is terminated as provided under a food services contract.

(B) For purposes of section 5595 of title 5—(i) any period of continuous service performed by a covered individual described under subparagraph (A) as an employee of a contractor shall be deemed to be a period of service as an employee of the Architect of the Capitol; and(ii) any termination of employment of a covered individual described under subparagraph (A) with a contractor shall be treated as a separation from service with the Architect of the Capitol.

(5) shall not be taken into account in determining the amount of any severance pay to which the employee may be entitled under section 5595 of title 5 based on any other separation; and
-
(c) Upon completion of training under this section, a controller may be—(1) assigned to other duties in the Executive agency in which the controller is employed;(2) released for transfer to another Executive agency; or(3) involuntarily separated from the service.The involuntary separation of a controller under this subsection is not a removal for cause on charges of misconduct, delinquency, or inefficiency for purposes of section 5595 or section 8336 of this title.

(6) shall not be taken into account in determining the amount of any severance pay to which the employee may be entitled under section 5595, based on another other1 separation; and
-
(4) shall not be taken into account for purposes of determining the amount of any severance pay to which an individual may be entitled under section 5595 based on any other separation; and
-
(1) Any allowance paid under this section shall not be considered as basic pay for the purposes of subchapter VI and section 5595 of chapter 55, chapter 81 or 87 of this title, or other benefits related to basic pay.

(B) Separation pay shall not be a basis for payment, and shall not be included in the computation, of any other type of Government benefit. Separation pay shall not be taken into account for the purpose of determining the amount of any severance pay to which an individual may be entitled under section 5595, based on any other separation.

(2) For purposes of sections 5595(c), 5941, 8331(3), and 8704(c), and for such other purposes as may be expressly provided for by law or as the Office of Personnel Management may by regulation prescribe, the basic pay of a firefighter subject to this subsection shall include—(A) an amount computed under paragraph (1)(A) for the hours within the basic 40-hour workweek; and(B) an amount equal to the firefighter’s basic hourly rate (as computed under paragraph (1)(B)) for all hours outside the basic 40-hour workweek that are within such firefighter’s regular tour of duty (including overtime hours).

(A) an amount equal to the amount the employee would be entitled to receive under section 5595(c) if the employee were entitled to payment under such section; or
