Department— The term “Department” means the Department of Peacebuilding established under section 101(a).

ESEA terms— The terms “elementary school”, “secondary school”, and “State educational agency” have the meaning given those terms in section 8101 of the Elementary and Secondary Education Act of 1965 (
20 U.S.C. 7801).

Federal agency— The term “Federal agency” has the meaning given the term “agency” in section 551(1) of title 5, United States Code.

Institution of higher education— The term “institution of higher education” has the meaning given that term in section 101 of the Higher Education Act of 1965 (
20 U.S.C. 1001).

Nonprofit organization— The term “nonprofit organization” means an entity that—

is exempt from tax under section 501(a) of such Code.
(6)
Secretary— The term “Secretary” means the Secretary of Peacebuilding appointed under section 101(b).
