in clause (iii), by striking “or”;
in clause (iv), by striking the period at the end and inserting “; or”; and
by adding at the end the following:
“(v) a Federal, State, regional, or local science, environmental, or natural resource management agency or a nonprofit environmental education organization that has demonstrated effectiveness in improving the quality of mathematics and science instruction.”
in subsection (b)(2)(B), by inserting “, including any State environmental literacy plan described in section 5621,” after “reform activities”; and
in subsection (c), by adding at the end the following:
“(11) Professional development in the use of field-based or service learning to enable teachers—
“(A) to use the local environment and community as a resource; and
“(B) to enhance student understanding of mathematics and science through environmental education.”
