# §1358. Local jurisdiction over immigrant stations


The officers in charge of the various [immigrant](/usc/8/1101.md?p=a-15) stations shall admit therein the proper [State](/usc/8/1101.md?p=a-36) and local officers charged with the enforcement of the laws of the [State](/usc/8/1101.md?p=a-36) or Territory of the [United States](/usc/8/1101.md?p=a-38) in which any such [immigrant](/usc/8/1101.md?p=a-15) station is located in order that such [State](/usc/8/1101.md?p=a-36) and local officers may preserve the peace and make arrests for crimes under the laws of the [States](/usc/8/1101.md?p=a-36) and Territories. For the purpose of this section the jurisdiction of such [State](/usc/8/1101.md?p=a-36) and local officers and of the [State](/usc/8/1101.md?p=a-36) and local courts shall extend over such [immigrant](/usc/8/1101.md?p=a-15) stations.
