# §7810. Authority for Secretary to suspend or terminate order

- (a) **Grounds for suspension or termination—** If the [Secretary](/usc/7/7802.md?p=15) finds that an [order](/usc/7/7802.md?p=10), or any provision of the [order](/usc/7/7802.md?p=10), obstructs or does not tend to effectuate the policy of this chapter specified in [section 7801(b) of this title](/usc/7/7801.md?p=b), the [Secretary](/usc/7/7802.md?p=15) shall terminate or suspend the operation of the [order](/usc/7/7802.md?p=10) or provision under such terms as the [Secretary](/usc/7/7802.md?p=15) determines are appropriate.
- (b) **Effect of lack of approval of order—** If, as a result of a referendum, the [Secretary](/usc/7/7802.md?p=15) determines that the [order](/usc/7/7802.md?p=10) is not approved, the [Secretary](/usc/7/7802.md?p=15) shall, within 180 days after making the determination, suspend, or terminate, as appropriate, collection of assessments under the [order](/usc/7/7802.md?p=10), and suspend or terminate, as appropriate, activities under the [order](/usc/7/7802.md?p=10) in an orderly manner as soon as possible.
