# §7514. Incorporation of additional commodities

- (a) **In general—** The [Secretary](/usc/7/499a.md?p=b-2) shall administer the program authorized under this chapter in a manner that incorporates into the program [additional commodities](/usc/7/7501.md?p=1) purchased by the [Secretary](/usc/7/499a.md?p=b-2) under [section 7515 of this title](/usc/7/7515.md) to be distributed to [States](/usc/7/198.md?p=5) for use in such [States](/usc/7/198.md?p=5) by [emergency feeding organizations](/usc/7/7501.md?p=4), as defined in [section 7501(1)](/usc/7/7501.md?p=1)[^1] of this title. Such [additional commodities](/usc/7/7501.md?p=1), to the extent practicable and appropriate, shall include commodities purchased within a given [State](/usc/7/198.md?p=5) for distribution within such [State](/usc/7/198.md?p=5).
- (b) **Supplement commodities available—** The [Secretary](/usc/7/499a.md?p=b-2) shall supplement the commodities made available to [emergency feeding organizations](/usc/7/7501.md?p=4) under sections [7502](/usc/7/7502.md) and [7507(a)](/usc/7/7507.md?p=a) of this title with nutritious and useful commodities purchased by the [Secretary](/usc/7/499a.md?p=b-2) under [section 7515 of this title](/usc/7/7515.md).
