# §6994. Notice and opportunity for hearing


Not later than 10 working days after an [adverse decision](/usc/7/6991.md?p=1) is made that affects the [participant](/usc/7/6991.md?p=9), the [Secretary](/usc/7/6902.md?p=3) shall provide the [participant](/usc/7/6991.md?p=9) with written notice of such [adverse decision](/usc/7/6991.md?p=1) and the rights available to the [participant](/usc/7/6991.md?p=9) under this subchapter or other law for the review of such [adverse decision](/usc/7/6991.md?p=1).
