# §6404. Notice and comment


Not later than 60 days after the [Secretary](/usc/7/6402.md?p=7) receives a request for the issuance of an order under this chapter, and a specific proposal for an order from individual [fluid milk processors](/usc/7/6402.md?p=4) that marketed during a representative period, as determined by the [Secretary](/usc/7/6402.md?p=7), not less than 30 percent of the volume of [fluid milk products](/usc/7/6402.md?p=3) marketed by all processors, the [Secretary](/usc/7/6402.md?p=7) shall publish the proposed order and give due notice and opportunity for public comment on the proposed order.
