# §246. Maintenance of records


To facilitate the administration of this chapter, the following [persons](/usc/7/241.md?p=7) shall maintain such records and make such reports, as the [Secretary](/usc/7/241.md?p=9) may by regulation require:

- (1) A [warehouse operator](/usc/7/241.md?p=11) that is licensed under this chapter.
- (2) A [person](/usc/7/241.md?p=7) operating a system for the electronic recording and transfer of [receipts](/usc/7/241.md?p=8) and other documents that are authorized under this chapter.
- (3) Any other [person](/usc/7/241.md?p=7) engaged in the issuance of [electronic receipts](/usc/7/241.md?p=5) or the transfer of documents under this chapter.
