# §2403. Reciprocity limits


Protection under this chapter may, by regulation, be limited to nationals of the [United States](/usc/7/2401.md?p=a-9), except where this limitation would violate a treaty and except that nationals of a foreign [state](/usc/7/198.md?p=5) in which they are domiciled shall be entitled to so much of the protection here afforded as is afforded by said foreign [state](/usc/7/198.md?p=5) to nationals of the [United States](/usc/7/2401.md?p=a-9) for the same genus and species.
