# §2120. Cotton; investigation of new uses; cooperation with State and other agencies


The [Secretary](/usc/7/2116.md?p=a) of Agriculture and the [Secretary](/usc/7/2116.md?p=a) of Commerce are authorized to engage in technical and scientific research in American-grown [cotton](/usc/7/2116.md?p=c) and its byproducts and their present and potential uses, including new and additional commercial and scientific uses for [cotton](/usc/7/2116.md?p=c) and its byproducts, and to diffuse such information among the people of the [United States](/usc/7/2116.md?p=e); and the [Secretary](/usc/7/2116.md?p=a) of Agriculture and the [Secretary](/usc/7/2116.md?p=a) of Commerce or their duly authorized representatives may cooperate with any department or agency of the Government, any [State](/usc/7/198.md?p=5), Territory, District, or possession or department, agency, or political subdivision thereof, or any [person](/usc/7/2116.md?p=b) in carrying out the purposes of this section in the District of Columbia and elsewhere.
