# §2008g. Payment of interest as condition of loan servicing for borrowers


The [Secretary](/usc/7/499a.md?p=b-2) may not reschedule or reamortize a loan for a [borrower](/usc/7/1991.md?p=b-1) under this chapter who has not requested consideration under [section 1981d(e) of this title](/usc/7/1981d.md?p=e) unless the [borrower](/usc/7/1991.md?p=b-1) pays a portion, as determined by the [Secretary](/usc/7/499a.md?p=b-2), of the interest due on the loan.
