# §1636e. Voluntary reporting


The [Secretary](/usc/7/499a.md?p=b-2) shall encourage voluntary reporting by [packers](/usc/7/1635d.md?p=5) (as defined in [section 191 of this title](/usc/7/191.md)) to which the mandatory reporting requirements of this subchapter do not apply.
