# §761. Emergency Management Assistance Compact grants

- (a) **In general—** The [Administrator](/usc/6/821.md?p=1) may make grants to administer the [Emergency Management](/usc/6/701.md?p=7) Assistance Compact consented to by the Joint Resolution entitled “Joint Resolution granting the consent of Congress to the [Emergency Management](/usc/6/701.md?p=7) Assistance Compact” (Public Law 104–321; 110 Stat. 3877).
- (b) **Uses—** A grant under this section shall be used—
  - (1) to carry out recommendations identified in the [Emergency Management](/usc/6/701.md?p=7) Assistance Compact after-action reports for the 2004 and 2005 hurricane season;
  - (2) to administer compact operations on behalf of all member [States](/usc/6/821.md?p=9) and territories;
  - (3) to continue coordination with the [Agency](/usc/6/671.md?p=1) and appropriate [Federal agencies](/usc/6/677a.md?p=4);
  - (4) to continue coordination with [State](/usc/6/821.md?p=9), local, and [tribal government](/usc/6/701.md?p=16) [entities](/usc/6/301c.md?p=2) and their respective national organizations; and
  - (5) to assist [State](/usc/6/821.md?p=9) and [local governments](/usc/6/821.md?p=9), [emergency response providers](/usc/6/101.md?p=6), and organizations representing such providers with [credentialing](/usc/6/741.md?p=2) [emergency response providers](/usc/6/101.md?p=6) and the [typing](/usc/6/741.md?p=14) of [emergency](/usc/6/701.md?p=6) response [resources](/usc/6/741.md?p=12).
- (c) **Coordination—** The [Administrator](/usc/6/821.md?p=1) shall consult with the [Administrator](/usc/6/821.md?p=1) of the [Emergency Management](/usc/6/701.md?p=7) Assistance Compact to ensure effective coordination of efforts in responding to requests for assistance.
- (d) **Authorization—** There is authorized to be appropriated to carry out this section $4,000,000 for each of fiscal years 2018 through 2022. Such sums shall remain available until expended.
