# §491. National Homeland Security Council


There is established within the Executive Office of the President a [council](/usc/6/681.md?p=2) to be known as the “[Homeland](/usc/6/101.md?p=1) Security [Council](/usc/6/681.md?p=2)” (in this subchapter referred to as the “[Council](/usc/6/681.md?p=2)”).
