# §1509. Exception to limitation on authority of Secretary of Defense to disseminate certain information


Notwithstanding subsection (c)(3) of [section 393 of title 10](/usc/10/393.md), the [Secretary](/usc/6/101.md?p=16) of Defense may authorize the sharing of [cyber threat indicators](/usc/6/1501.md?p=6) and [defensive measures](/usc/6/1501.md?p=7) pursuant to the policies, procedures, and guidelines developed or issued under this subchapter.
