# §302502. Certification as part of State program


Any State [program](/usc/54/308601.md?p=3) approved under this subdivision shall provide a mechanism for the certification by the [State Historic Preservation Officer](/usc/54/308702.md?p=4) of local governments to carry out the purposes of this division and provide for the transfer, in accordance with [section 302902(c)(4) of this title](/usc/54/302902.md?p=c-4), of a portion of the grants received by the States under this division, to those local governments.
