# §200505. State action

- (a) **Additional Match.—** The [Secretary](/usc/54/100102.md?p=3) may increase [rehabilitation grants](/usc/54/200501.md?p=8) or [innovation grants](/usc/54/200501.md?p=3) authorized in [section 200503 of this title](/usc/54/200503.md) by providing an additional match equal to the total match provided by a [State](/usc/54/200102.md?p=4) of up to 15 percent of total [project](/usc/54/200401.md?p=4) costs. The Federal matching amount shall not exceed 85 percent of total [project](/usc/54/200401.md?p=4) cost.
- (b) **Adequate Implementation of Local Recovery Plans.—** The [Secretary](/usc/54/100102.md?p=3) shall encourage [States](/usc/54/200102.md?p=4) to assist the [Secretary](/usc/54/100102.md?p=3) in ensuring—
  - (1) that local recovery plans and programs are adequately implemented by cooperating with the [Secretary](/usc/54/100102.md?p=3) in monitoring local park and recreation recovery plans and programs; and
  - (2) consistency of the plans and programs, where appropriate, with [State](/usc/54/200102.md?p=4) recreation policies as set forth in statewide comprehensive outdoor recreation plans.
