# §200401. Definitions


In this chapter:

- (1) **Asset.—** The term “asset” means any real property, including any physical structure or grouping of structures, landscape, trail, or other tangible property, that—
  - (A) has a specific [service](/usc/54/100102.md?p=4) or function; and
  - (B) is tracked and managed as a distinct, identifiable entity by the applicable [covered agency](#2).
- (2) **Covered agency.—** The term “covered agency” means—
  - (A) the [Service](/usc/54/100102.md?p=4);
  - (B) the [United States](/usc/54/200102.md?p=5) Fish and Wildlife [Service](/usc/54/100102.md?p=4);
  - (C) the Forest [Service](/usc/54/100102.md?p=4);
  - (D) the Bureau of Land Management; and
  - (E) the Bureau of Indian Education.
- (3) **Fund.—** The term “[Fund](/usc/54/200301.md?p=1)” means the National Parks and Public Land Legacy Restoration [Fund](/usc/54/200301.md?p=1) established by [section 200402(a)](/usc/54/200402.md?p=a).
- (4) **Project.—** The term “project” means any activity to reduce or eliminate deferred [maintenance](/usc/54/200501.md?p=4) of an [asset](#1), which may include resolving directly related infrastructure deficiencies of the [asset](#1) that would not by itself be classified as deferred [maintenance](/usc/54/200501.md?p=4).
