# §100732. Preservation and management of System units by Secretary; promulgation of regulations


To preserve for the benefit of present and future generations the pristine beauty of [System units](/usc/54/100102.md?p=6), and to further the purposes of [section 100101(a)](/usc/54/100101.md?p=a), [chapter 1003](/usc/54/chstI/dA/ch1003.md), and sections [100751(a)](/usc/54/100751.md?p=a), [100752](/usc/54/100752.md), [100753](/usc/54/100753.md), and [102101](/usc/54/102101.md) of this title and the individual organic Acts for the [System units](/usc/54/100102.md?p=6), all activities resulting from the exercise of mineral rights on patented or unpatented mining claims within any [System unit](/usc/54/100102.md?p=6) shall be subject to such regulations prescribed by the [Secretary](/usc/54/100102.md?p=3) as the [Secretary](/usc/54/100102.md?p=3) considers necessary or desirable for the preservation and management of the [System units](/usc/54/100102.md?p=6).
