# §40115. Aviation weather research


The [Administrator](/usc/51/10101.md?p=2) may carry out a program of collaborative research with the National Oceanic and Atmospheric [Administration](/usc/51/10101.md?p=1) on convective weather events, with the goal of significantly improving the reliability of 2-hour to 6-hour aviation weather forecasts.
