# §4823. Consultation with other agencies on commodity classification


Notwithstanding any other provision of law, the [Secretary](/usc/50/4801.md?p=10) shall consult with the [Secretary](/usc/50/4801.md?p=10) of Defense, the Secretary of State, and the [Secretary](/usc/50/4801.md?p=10) of Energy, as appropriate, regarding commodity classifications for any item the [Secretary](/usc/50/4801.md?p=10) and the [Secretary](/usc/50/4801.md?p=10) of Defense, the Secretary of State, and the [Secretary](/usc/50/4801.md?p=10) of Energy identify and mutually determine is materially significant enough to warrant interagency consultation.
